About Camp Idlewild

Over 50 Years of Faith, Fun, and Friendship

OUR STORY

Camp Idlewild was lovingly carved out of a farm and forest in Surry County, Virginia over 50 years ago. What began as a small gathering place for Church of Christ congregations has grown into a beloved summer camp that has touched the lives of thousands of young people.

The camp is not about fancy facilities or an idyllic setting. It is about the relationships forged in the warmth of shared experiences, the bonds of faith that grow stronger with each passing summer, and the memories that last a lifetime.
